This is the story of the woman who came from Shunam and how Elisha came to her and tells her she will have a son. There is lot's in this story but I'm after the faith of this woman. Her faith can teach us how to walk in faith. If we can understand her faith under these extreme circumstances, we can apply that, learn faith and walk in faith in the circumstances I find myself in. The Faith of Elisha Part 4

Elisha asks the woman, what do you have in the house? There is all of this blessing that is pressing and trying to get in. How can God get in here? Is there anything in the house he could use to shower you with blessing? She has already sold everything and all that is left is a jar of oil. Something that she deems insignificant. Christians today are i debt to the law. They promise every week to try harder and rededicate themselves, yet we have this treasure in earthen vessels. What are these stories telling us? Elisha has returned and the spirit of Elijah rests upon him. So the people of Jericho come to Elisha and tell him how pleasant their city is, all but one thing. The water supply, the source of life for all the city is poisoned. In this lesson we will look at just exactly who are these men of Jericho. Why did Elisha ask for a new jar and why did he put salt in the jar? Elisha had unbendable faith and this shows the desire of Elisha. God never told him to stick with Elijah and when you get over Jordan to ask for this. Elisha knows that if he's called me to a mission, then he must empower me to do it. All God did was throw the mantle over him and from there the desire of Elisha took over. We are taught that getting saved means go to heaven when you die and therefore nothing of any importance happens until I arrive in heaven. We've got no desire for "NOW"! I'm talking about desire, passion! To be involved in the purpose for which you were born for, the purpose that you have to fulfill on this earth and to do that with everything that God wills to give you to do what he called you to do. The only relationship I can have to God is worship in Spirit and in Truth in Christ. That access is faith. The story of Elisha is a story of faith under terrible opposition. Yet Elisha moves through with a great quietness and peace. Where is that faith from? How does that faith happen? How do I walk in the midst of an oppressive world with simple, quiet, trust in God?
