I believe our modern concepts of "worship" and "sermon" have kept the church powerless to face today's challenges of society that are set before us. Instead of engaging in the problems, we have reduced it to escapism theology.

Why didn't Jesus take on other religions and destroy them and pick them apart. I don't think God called us to destroy other religions. Jesus has invited us to demonstrate and announce that the kingdom of God is here. He has called us to witness to the crucified Christ and the power of God that is present in the risen and resurrected Jesus. Jesus says to go into that village and demonstrate and then announce!
