Psalms 84
Are you able to react to life when it's at it's worst as David did? Can we say with David, " Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee"? There is a sense of restlessness in humanity. Yet the sparrow hath found an house and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young.

Hebrews 4:14-16
Here is the message of Hebrews to these discouraged and disappointed people who had become uncertain about their faith and belief and were even beginning to wonder whether they would fall away from it. That's a message needed today. Many are falling away from the church. Many wondering whether it's true or not. Many turning to cults and many other things. Why?

Philippians 3
Paul gives a warning to the church. Then he looks back over his life. He makes a general review of it and records for us the extraordinary change which had taken place in his life. He did it because of the situation that was arising in many of the churches and was threatening the church.

There is a promise left to us of entering into God's rest. So many miss that rest. The reason given as seen in Israel in the wilderness is unbelief.

Paul says he was seized by Jesus Christ, now I spend the rest of my life trying to seize him. To understand what Paul is saying, we've got to get inside the mind of Paul. How did Paul become the Paul we know? What happened to him?

Hebrews chapter 3
We've seen that all that was contained in the Old Testament, Jesus summed it all up and he is greater than it all. The writer of Hebrews tells us that Jesus is far greater than Moses. He goes on to tell us the reason they couldn't enter into God's rest. It was the sin of unbelief. Unbelief is the only sin mentioned in the Epistle to the Hebrews. The great warning is for us today as well. The sin of unbelief keeps us in an experience of living in the wilderness instead of living in God's rest.

There is an absolute necessity of us understanding ALL that Jesus Christ does in us and through us. Understanding how we leave behind everything that is old and come to understand all that is new. We must not only come to understand the gospel, but also know how to live in it's power! There you have it - "Behold I make all things new!"

Jesus tasted death for us. We don't really think we deserve death for our sins. Somewhere in our minds, we have rationalized that our sins aren't that bad. Then we settle into a lower punishment for sins. We settle into the idea that God would maybe, make us sick or maybe he caused me to loose a job because I sinned. So we look at the circumstances and consequences and we ascribe that to God. In God's economy, the only adequate punishment for our sin is death. Jesus took it all. God is satisfied! Jesus tasted death for every man.

The apostles constantly affirmed that the age of consummation had already been implemented by the resurrection and ascension of Christ. Now we can begin the harvest. Once the old had been swept away the age of Christ would be fully established, an age in which righteousness dwells.
