Exodus Part 1

  The nation of Israel was given the promises. They were the root and the church is the flower. Christianity is not a new religion that started after Judaism. Israel was the underground and the church is the above ground in the Holy Spirit. Everything we know of covenant, God gave it to Israel to hold for us until we grew up and learned about it. Everything we know, the temple, the tabernacle, the offerings, the feasts, the priesthood, the covenant, the promises, God gave to Israel to look after until Jesus came. The Birth of Jesus Part 4

The entire middle east is mobilized so two people could be in the right place at the right time for prophecy to be fulfilled. Joseph and Mary had to be in Bethlehem for Micah 5:2 to be fulfilled. In this lesson we will see the actual setting for the birth of the Lord Jesus. We will also took a closer look at the shepherds and why they were actually allowed near the city at this time. People crave for worth. It's the biggest agony in the world today. We long for significance, we long to matter. Only the gospel has an answer to this longing. This answer must come from the root of our existence. We must face the questions; "Why am I here?", "Why am I?", "What is the meaning of my being alive?" What's behind this incredible universe with all it's perfections? God brought creation into being in order to love that creation. Where did Jesus come from? I want to know his origins. I want to know something of his nature by seeing where he came from. It's a fascinating study. Those boring genealogies - God is unfolding his purpose right before our eyes. God is at work when you don't think he's doing anything. So I can be assured that even in the quiet times, when I hear nothing, God is at work in my life, bringing about his glorious love purpose.  Jesus' name means the Lord is my salvation. At this time the name "Jesus" was a very common name. They would name their children after the longing of their heart. "Thou art become my salvation" was the very cry of their heart, that the Lord would indeed be their salvation. They called him "Jesus". The name was common and even though it was a common name, yet all the prayers invested in all the others named Jesus, in this one they truly met. For this Jesus is the Lord our salvation. The Blood Covenant Part 17

It's the covenant that fulfills the longing of God, granting us the gift of his life. That gift makes us his children, giving us the privilege of enjoying intimate friendship with him. Psalms 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. This puts into one sentence the incredible plan God has purposed for us. The uniting of God and man in the strong bond of friendship is achieved by the covenant God has made with us in the person of Jesus Christ. God loves the world but believers are his circle of intimate friends with whom he shares his heart. Every believer has been called to such a relationship with God in the person of Jesus Christ and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.  We know a lot about the sufferings of Jesus. We know a lot about the resurrection and ascension of Jesus. But when it comes to the birth of Jesus, it's been so lost under a mass of pagan nonsense that very few Christians really know what happened at the birth of Jesus and all the events that were around it. We are going to walk through these chapters and find out who the people were that where so close to that birth. I mean we will talk with Zacharias and Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist. We'll meet Anna and Simeon in the temple, Joseph and Mary, and those elusive characters called the Wisemen. The Blood Covenant Part 16

We've seen one of the major differences between contract and covenant is in what's being exchanged. A contract is the exchange and passing of property and/or possessions. A covenant is the exchange of persons. Contract says, "This is now yours", covenant says, "I am now yours". So God doesn't merely promise his impersonal blessing. His blessing is the gift of himself in the person of the Holy Spirit. The covenant is not with us as individuals but with the "People" who are in Christ - with whom the covenant is made. We have an intensely personal relationship with God in Christ but we don't have an individual relationship - it's a corporate one. He said, "I will be your God, and you shall be my people."
