 Jesus didn't die by crucifixion. Jesus didn't die at anyone's hand. He chose to die, the willing sacrifice for sin. He freely chose to join us in our death. To the Hebrews, praising God invaded every part of their life. Every circumstance involved praise. It seems that we've forgotten how to praise,  in most churches praising seems almost illegal. Hallel means to boast, to be excited, to enjoy to the full. If you are excited about someone, and you enjoy someone to the full, you just might boast about them to other people. King David prepared a place, a tent where the Ark was going to be placed. It was called the hill of Zion.  No other religion has the beginning concept that God is love and that he loves each person with a passionate unconditional love. The human mind can't come to this conclusion. We can only know that he is love because he has revealed himself to us in his Son.

David becomes the representative of Israel. He becomes the one that will go out into the valley of Elah and face the giant. He goes in shepherds clothes, no armor, no mask, he goes in the weakness of flesh. His only clothes was his trust in his God of the covenant.

Humans are hostile to God and neither in a covenant nor are in a position to initiate one. They are not only hostile to God but are the covenant breakers. The first sin was the breaking of the covenant that was their destiny to enjoy and as covenant breakers are under the penalty of death.  The word "in" really sums up the whole gospel. It describes the fulfillment of love. Love at its most basic level is one person desiring and delighting in another. It finds its greatest expression in that personal fellowship in which each lives in the life of the other. Finding the fullness of joy in imparting their very self to the other and receiving from the other the outflow of their delight.
